Gills are off and running away from home in terms of wins after Sam Vokes opened his account for the club at Oldham. That victory, taking us to the top of the table, was followed by an interesting and productive deadline day where the squad was strengthened overall, some cash came in for Gbode and Nolan went out.

Tonight we turn our attention to that reviled cup competition that's nothing more than the chance to get some minutes in for fringe players and help those first teamers coming back from injury. With a good number of our youngsters out on loan, Cruz Beszant has the opportunity to show his hardworking cameo at Oldham wasn't a one-off as we take on Fulham's kids tonight (don't forget it's a 7pm kick off).

Plenty of opportunity for the Turner's, Wyllie's and Khumbeni's (if fit) to stake a claim for a place in a side that must be buoyant after three successive wins.

We have played Fulham's kids before in this very competition, six of our current squad appearing in a 0-1 home defeat under Clem in November 2023 to go out at the group stage. For the highlights, we'll go with Super Bob doing Super Bob things and recording a moment that will live in the memories for all those lucky enough to witness it in the flesh, of which I am one. I've always loved the camera flash as the cross comes in.

Bromley is the key fixture this week, this is about keeping everyone fit and getting minutes in...oh and ten grand for the win.
