Following our excellent win on Saturday, Gills return to action tonight in the Tinpot against GA's old side, Wycombe Wanderers, both sides still in with a chance of making Round 2, although the excitement seems to have bypassed the denizens of Kent given that there's only a few hundred tickets been sold.

Both Gills and Wanderers have beaten Fulham's children and lost 2-1 to the Mighty Coley in this monstrosity so far and Gills will go through with any sort of win. A draw will also be sufficient to take us through if we then actually manage to score some penalties in the bonus point penalty shootout. Gripping stuff.

Plenty of our returning injured and fringe players will be in with a shout tonight, the likes of McCleary and Jonny Smith might be risked, the former following a late sub appearance on Saturday, while Euan Williams could make his first appearance of the season following his injury. Definitely out is Lenni Cirino having picked up two bookings and a juicy red in the last Tinpot match at Colchester, while Armani Little, Jonny Williams and Conor Masterson are unlikely to feature. Wycombe manager, Michael Duff, has confirmed wholesale changes for his side tonight, with former Gills transfer target and Wanderers top scorer, Fred Onyadinma likely to be rested.

The head to head is exceptionally close in all aspects, Gills lead 10 wins to nine, with nine draws. For the highlights we go back to 1998-99 and a resounding 3-0 Gills home win courtesy of goals from my favourite ever Gill, Mark Saunders (a stunning 25 yard volley) and Super Bob with a header and a cheeky quick free-kick netting just his second and third goals for the club.

If we make it through tonight, I will be fairly ambivalent. If we get knocked out, it's no bother. We all know that following up our win in Bristol when we take on Crawley at Priestfield in another shonky kick-off time on Saturday is far more important than anything that happens tonight.
